Insight

While there has traditionally been no real culture of telecommuting in South Africa, particularly compared to some of the more widely geographically dispersed nations like Australia, this is likely to change. South Africa’s current electricity crisis affects every business and employee at some point, and the increasing loss of productivity that is occurring, both from staff having to sit idle while there is no power and from people being late for work and meetings because the traffic lights are out of order means that a shift in the direction of telecommuting may well be coming soon.
