Infor ready to be number three?

Although Infor has shown impressive growth, will it be able to rise to the challenge to become a true number three?

The ERP market has been one of the busiest from a consolidation perspective over the past few years, with the demise of numerous well-known 1990`s names such as Baan, Great Plains, Intentia, JBA Software, JD Edwards, Mapics, Navision, PeopleSoft and Scala Business Systems.

The recently announced $1.4 billion acquisition of SSA Global by Infor has created a perception by some analysts that we have a potential number three player in the enterprise software space behind Oracle and SAP. Is this a likely scenario? After all, who are Infor and SSA Global Technologies?
