The global cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) market is set to reach $46.14bn in 2025 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.8%. By 2029, says Global Information Research, this is anticipated to be $73.91bn at a CAGR of 12.5%. In South Africa, the market is expected to reach $202.30mn in 2025 at a CAGR of 2.93%.

SAP is the world’s largest ERP, and has thousands of small- and medium-sized customers in South Africa, with a couple of hundred large customers. Other global players include Oracle, Microsoft and Sage. Cloud-based ERP, says Grandview Research, is the fastest growing segment in the local market.
