It’s been a challenging year, says Roey Saban, CTO of the Core Group, with a quizzical look that recognises the understatement. Like so many in the IT world, what strikes him most was the way in which change that would ordinarily have happened over months or years happened virtually overnight.

“It was all-hands-on-deck across the whole business, not just the IT department,” he adds. “But for us, the challenges also presented huge opportunities to move our digitalisation programme forward and tackle some big projects while our retail operations were suspended.”
