Capitec is quietly achieving what the major banks in South Africa can only hope to. It will soon be a completely paperless bank.
The final step in the puzzle: the installation of biometric fingerprint scanners in its more than 370 branches. The process will be complete by October, barely a few months after it began, and according to Chris Oosthuizen, executive: information technology at Capitec, this is the “last stage of eliminating paper completely within the bank”.
