Sita`s new CEO says the public sector has many urgent projects aimed at improving services to the people.

The State IT Agency (Sita) has come a long way in the last few years. Barring an operational “difficulty” – following the departure of ex-CEO Mavuso Msimang to the Department of Home Affairs – earlier this year, the organisation is fundamentally healthy.

That`s according to incoming CEO Llewellyn Jones. Nevertheless, the new role will not be without its challenges as Jones says the organisation will be under considerable pressure to deliver on its mandate.

“Some of our biggest tasks will lie in the implementation of four of government`s transversal initiatives. We also have several departmental projects that have deadlines, which are rapidly approaching. And, of course, we have had several high-level resignations that require our attention,” he says.
