Apps offer South Africans the opportunity to expand their horizons without getting on a plane.

With the country in lockdown and even domestic tourism only just starting the long road to recovery, a number of venues and organisations have turned to the virtual channel to connect with their audiences digitally and maintain awareness of their brands and experiences.

From an armchair, people can visit places that would not previously have been an option. Virtual international travel is now a reality, and it doesn’t come with the cost and inconvenience of a flight overseas, not that there are any flights out of South Africa just yet.
