Taking aim at the services game

With the global market maturing and customer demands changing, Nokia is changing tack and moving aggressively into the online services game.

Nokia is getting into the online services game, a move the company confirmed last month at the opening of its Middle East and Africa (MEA) regional head office in Dubai.

Nokia president and CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo explained that, although the market will consider this to be a dramatic change of direction for the mobile handset-focused company (its network business resides with the NokiaSiemens brand), it`s simply an extension of Nokia`s original mandate of ‘connecting people`.
