ITWeb Security Summit, a two-day conference, held this year at the Sandton Convention Centre, hosted the hackathon alongside the main summit earlier this month. The hackathon is an initiative of ITWeb and its partners and has become a favourite among technology experts and up-and-coming tech enthusiasts.

The hackathon is now in its fifth year and has played role in improving cybersecurity skills, tools and capabilities of ICT students, young techpreneurs and cyber security enthusiasts. The young geeks build solutions that embody proactive security capabilities to protect digital citizens and organisations in the digital age. They are mentored by cybersecurity leaders, Steve Jump, MD, Custodient Advisory Services, Nithen Naidoo, CEO, Snode Technologies and Eva Mamabolo, Lecturer at Sol Plaatje University among others.
