Much loved and respected economist, social reformer, trainer, poet, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Margaret Legum, died unexpectedly due to a complication while undergoing colon surgery at the end of last year.

At the time of her death, she was the chairperson of the South African New Economics Foundation, of which she was the co-founder.
