Africa is one of the fastest growing consumer markets, projected to boast 1.7 billion consumers by 2030. A growing middle class, with bigger spending power than ever before, and increasingly purchasing goods online, is expected to see e-commerce revenues almost double to $34.8 million by 2024.
In the midst of this commerce revolution, African e-commerce companies like Jumia attract a lot of attention, and have gone public as a result. But a key driver of African commerce, online or otherwise, is the continent’s logistics industry, which is booming in terms of companies operating and levels of investment.
