Praxis Computing co-founder and director Mirriam Zwane came from nowhere. Literally. Born in 1956 in a tin shack within the borders of the newly formed Soweto, Zwane says she can never return to her first home.

"My mother told me we lived in this little township within Soweto called Albertonsville," Zwane recalls. "I have yet to find a map that marks this area or an indication of where it actually was. Officially, it just didn't exist. It was probably the name given by the community so that they could claim the area as theirs."
