I don’t know why everyone’s buzzing about PayPal’s imminent entry into the local market (via a partnership with FNB).

It advertises itself as the fast, easy way to send money to anyone via the web. This is certainly true: if you need to pay someone, you log into PayPal, send them money and PayPal deducts the money from whatever account you have linked. But it’s a poor way to receive money. PayPal can – and does – suspend accounts regularly on a whim and then makes it impossible for you to complain or even get your money back.
