A star is born?
Barnstone started out life as an incubator for local entrepreneurs. Now it’s a specialist outsourcer with R115 million turnover and offices on two continents.

Barnstone’s founders left the corporate world planning to start an incubator that would give them the space to practise what they’d been preaching to their clients for all those years. Five years later, the company’s offerings have expanded, just a little.
Says ex-Deloitte consulting CEO Pierre Tredoux: “Once we started the business and it started growing, we realised the importance of cash flow, and came up with the idea of providing services to a very specific client base, with substantial enough scale to afford what we wanted to provide. We had good positioning in the mining industry because of our previous business so we started there.”
