The business of ethics
Heading up the local offshoot of IBM’s services business Kyndryl, Sandhya Sonne has a career’s worth of experience on which to draw.
20 September 2022
When Sandhya Sonne was in her last year of university, she ran out of money to complete her studies and had to abandon her degree.
She mentions it matter-of-factly now, as just a long discarded memory in a successful IT career. Last year, IBM promoted Sonne from the GM of its Global Technology Services (GTS) business in Southern Africa to MD of Kyndryl South Africa, a company that it spun off in 2021 to form the world’s largest IT infrastructure services provider. This new position with a newly independent organisation gives her plenty of scope to grow both the company and her own experience and sphere of influence.
