This is a deeply personal photographic project born from the absence of visual archives in my family history. Growing up, I always wondered what my grandfather and great-uncles looked like. With no photos to hold onto, their stories lived on through my mother's stories. These narratives inspired my commitment to documenting and preserving our family legacy. Over time, my focus has shifted from what is missing to celebrating those who are present. Working primarily in black and white, I strip away the distractions of colour to distill each image to its emotional core. The simplicity of monochrome allows the sincerity and intimacy of these moments to shine. With this project, I aim to create a living archive that honours both the past and the present—celebrating love, laughter, and the everyday connections that define my family’s story.
