Onkemetse Lekone
I am a documentary photographer and visual storyteller whose work explores identity, belonging, community, and contemporary social narratives. My photography is driven by a deep curiosity about people and the spaces they inhabit, using visual storytelling to capture authentic moments with honesty and sensitivity. I am also the founder of Botaki Magazine, a platform dedicated to celebrating African art, culture, and creative expression. Working across documentary and editorial photography, I create images that encourage reflection, connection, and dialogue. Through my practice, I document stories that are both visually compelling and socially meaningful. I believe photography has the power to preserve memory, challenge perceptions, and deepen our understanding of one another.
