What Cape Town can teach us about productivity
A joke about the four-day work week raises a serious question about the way we measure productivity, and suggests Cape Town may have been ahead of the rest of us all along.

I recently reposted a LinkedIn post about a four-day work week experiment. The trial had been overwhelmingly successful: employees were happier, productivity increased by 30%, and the organisation was getting much more done in four days than it had previously in five.
Management therefore immediately cancelled the four-day week experiment because: “If they could get so much done in four days, imagine what they could do in five!”
