The elephant in the room
Imagine climate change as an elephant in your living room.
How long would you be able to ignore it or pretend it wasn’t a problem? Now imagine the beast increased fourfold in size.
When people talk about climate change as a green issue they are inadvertently throwing porridge at the baby. The chorus that follows is either the demeaning “they are just a bunch of greenies”; or the patronising “good point but we can’t bestow all our attention on green issues”; or the falsely enthusiastic “let’s go carbon neutral” clarion call that is followed by minimum action.
