Becoming a mother at 15 could easily have held her back in life, but Simone Julies-Wicomb didn’t let this stand in the way of her dream to become a business owner. In fact, she says, it became a motivation to build a better future for her family, and to prove that your circumstances don’t define your potential.
Today, she runs the Black Elegance Group, a Cape Town-based business process outsourcing (BPO) company, providing call centre services and back-office operations to Telkom.
