Energypro, developed by Cape Town utility company Open Access Energy, is a cloud-based software platform to manage and scale energy wheeling. The system connects power producers, traders, and energy users and manages transactions, verifies tariffs, and automates settlement.

This comes at a time when the South African energy wheeling market is transitioning from ad-hoc bilateral arrangements to a more structured, trader-led, quasi-market framework, and will be useful for companies wanting to better manage their systems and some of the persistent challenges around tariffs, capacity and standardisation.
