Advocate Jupiter Phaladi, Office of the Premier in the Free State

As governments around the world accelerate digital modernisation, the Free State Provincial Government says it is positioning technology as a key enabler of improved governance, operational efficiency and citizen-focused service delivery. This emerged during the recent Public Sector ICT Forum in Bloemfontein, hosted in partnership with BCX. The event brought together government leaders, ICT professionals and technology stakeholders to discuss challenges confronting provincial and local governments, including ageing infrastructure, legacy systems, cybersecurity threats, cloud computing and AI readiness.

Delivering the keynote address, advocate Jupiter Phaladi, chief director of corporate reform at the Office of the Premier in the Free State, said the provincial government views digital transformation as essential to improving service delivery and supporting socio-economic development.
