Emergence of the true solutions architect
There`s a prevalent job title in IT circles, but not all those dubbed as such actually have the requisite skills.

I have increasingly been coming into contact with ‘solutions architects`. What, I wonder, is a solutions architect? Like so many monikers and terms in the IT industry, it means different things to different people. Consequently, it is defined differently almost everywhere you go.
By my reckoning, a solutions architect should be an individual with a transversal, converged and applied understanding of a company`s people, processes and technologies. This knowledge enables the individual to extract true business value from technology while mitigating risk, adhering to financial disciplines and communicating net results to executive owners.
