Conquering South Africa’s connectivity sector
Thobile Nyawo is on a mission to position her company as a reliable execution partner in ICT infrastructure.

After missing the cut-off date to get a bursary to study civil engineering, Thobile Nyawo got a lucky break when she convinced the construction company where she was doing an internship to subcontract part of a major job to her. At just 20, she was launched into the business world.
Eleven years on and having shifted her business to focus on laying fibre cables, Nyawo Group now provides services to Openserve and Nokia through four offices across the country, and employs 60 people full-time.
