Monday.com was built in 2012 as an internal tool to help teams working at website builder Wix.com, which needed a way to solve challenges around communications and transparency.

Initially called Dapulse, the project management platform was launched in 2014 after raising $1.5mn in seed funding, with Wix as its first customer. The rebrand to Monday.com took place in 2017, and by 2019, the company had become a unicorn with a valuation of $1.9bn.
