AI and marketing: A marriage made in heaven, or hell.

The marketing and public relations industries in South Africa have begun paying more attention to how AI is changing the market. In 2025, Nedbank’s agency created a campaign in 12 days, compared to the usual 45, using two people and the Forge AI platform made by the Brave Group. Several new agencies have launched on the foundation of AI in marketing, each one trying something different. Anthrologic embedded AI into its campaign workflow, InterHive used it for GenAI agents, and Lemon Sorbet Marketing is using it to interrogate client and market data.
