A cyber giant

Cybersecurity firm Fortinet remains strong, with solid revenue growth, a broad-reaching solution set and impressive industry recognition.

The company I’m focusing on in this column is one of the most well-known cybersecurity players in the world, but while doing my research, two things surprised me – how well entrenched its solution set is across the local channel, and the level of credibility it has earned from the industry.

Fortinet was established in 2000 and nearly a quarter century later, the founding brothers, Ken and Michael Xie, are still running the show. Today, Ken is CEO, while Michael is president and CTO. They’re also the second and third largest shareholders, with Ken holding 8% and Michael 7.2%, behind the Vanguard Group, which holds 8.4%. The rest of the stock is held by investors with much smaller percentages.
