There can be no discussion about cloud without mentioning Google. Globally, it’s third in the market, with around 10%, behind leaders AWS and Azure. These three companies are also in the coveted top right corner of Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for public cloud. The analyst firm is broadly positive about Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and says it has the most fully featured Kubernetes service of any cloud, which isn’t surprising seeing as Google engineers invented it.

GCP adoption is also growing, but Gartner has expressed concern that it’s the only company among the top three reporting losses ($591m) in Q2, fiscal 2021, for this side of the business.
